Orgran Falafel Pizza
If pizza and falafels are some of your favorite foods, then this dish is for you! This vegan falafel pizza is made with red peppers, Orgran falafel mix and a delicious tahini drizzle to finish it off. There is a few steps in this recipe but if you follow along its actually very simple and easy to make. This pizza is something kids will love as well and it’s an easy way to get them to eat some extra veggies.

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of Orgran falafel mix
  • 1 pizza base
  • 3 tablespoons of tomato pasta sauce
  • 1 red pepper sliced
  • ½ cup of greens of your choice e.g., rocket, baby spinach, coriander etc.

For the tahini drizzle:

  • 3 tablespoons of tahini
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of liquid sweetener such as maple syrup, agave syrup, honey
  • 2 tablespoons of filtered water
  • Pinch of salt

Directions

  1. Combine the falafel mix and water, following the instructions on the Orgran box. Allow mixture to stand for 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare your pizza once you have left the falafel mix to stand.
  3. Preheat your oven to 180°C.
  4. Spread your tomato pasta sauce over your pizza base and chop your red pepper.
  5. Place your peppers onto your pizza base and place the pizza on a baking tray in the oven for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Now to make the tahini dressing before frying the falafels. In a small mixing bowl, add in all the ingredients for the tahini sauce and mix until smooth.
  7. Your falafel mix should be ready now. Roll your falafel balls using about 1 tablespoon of the batter to form a ball in your hands. Repeat with the remaining batter.
  8. Heat some oil in your frying pan and fry the balls until golden brown.
  9. Remove your pizza from the oven and add the greens of your choice and the falafel balls. You can slice your falafel balls in half if you like.
  10. Drizzle with the tahini dressing, slice and enjoy!

Ps. you may want to eat this pizza with a fork.
